After introducing multiple innovative collections at January’s industry trade show, Mohawk claimed Floor Covering News’ 21st annual Awards of Excellence, winning the coveted best overall manufacturer prize for the fifth time and taking six other major honors:

  • Best Carpet Manufacturer (Group A)
  • Mohawk Home: Best Rug Manufacturer
  • Mohawk Group: Best Commercial Manufacturer
  • Dal-Tile: Best Ceramic Tile Manufacturer (Group A)
  • Quick Step: Best Laminate Manufacturer (Group A)

The annual Awards of Excellence ceremony took place May 11 and was hosted by Floor Covering News, a leading industry publication. Brian Carson, president of Flooring North America, and key Mohawk team members were on hand at the event at the Garden City Hotel in Garden City, N.J., to receive the honors on behalf of the company.

These awards reflect the outstanding work of thousands of Mohawk employees whose talent and dedication provide our customers with innovation, fashion and value,” said Carson. “I am grateful to our retail partners for their enthusiastic endorsement of Mohawk’s people and products. No awards matter more to us than those voted on by our customers.”

Dal-Tile’s award, its 19th consecutive win in the cate-gory, was· accepted by John Cousins, Dal-Tile’s senior vice president of SSCs & field sales.

Sponsored by Floor Covering News and Informa Exhibitions, the Awards of Excellence were established as a way for manufacturers’ customers – retailers, distributors, designers, installers and specifiers – to honor the companies that they feel consistently provide the best service, professional-ism of sales force, management responsiveness, value, design, B2B, handling of claims and ease of doing business.

The awards are voted on by independent retailers beginning at the annual Surfaces flooring trade show in January and continuing through March via online ballots.
